Neil Innes is no stranger to International Beatleweek and we are very excited to have him back again for 2015s festival. In his own words, here’s what you can expect from this year’s show.
“Flawless sincerity, powerful drama, award-winning comedy and a sweet ukelele marmalade flesh out an entirely honest but otherwise unpretentious musical bouquet with a robust hint of vanilla and a lingering aftertaste of red currants. Good with children and animals.”
A wry, poignant, humorous and topical one-man show, spiced with anecdotes of Neil’s life and times in the worlds of media and show business. Neil is best known for his collaborative work with Monty Python, the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and the Rutles, while his shows for BBC2, ‘The innes Book of Records’ have become cult classics.
In this tour, apart from Bonzo, Python and Rutle favourites, Neil will be performing old and new songs, to form a loosely themed evening that tickles the emotions with a potent mix of fine musicianship, hilarious comedy and enlightened lyricism playing around with the more puzzling aspects of modern life. Difficult to describe – it has to be experienced. Go see it.”
