One After 909

Approximately six years ago, Robbie Korver (Paul) and Diederick Rebel (George), who met each other at a jam session, came up with to the idea to play some Beatles songs together. Since this was so much fun, they decided to start a band performing Beatles songs only. The asked Willem Perrels (Ringo) to join the band. Now the band only needed a guitarist with a John Lennon voice so they held some auditions and then Pim Vermeeren came along and passed the audition with flying colours. Soon they played some small gigs just to see if the audience liked it as much as the guys did themselves….and they did!! So One After 909 was born. A great band putting on a fab show, but still four guys who became real good friends and having lots of fun playing The Beatles music.

In 2011 they performed for the first time at the international Beatles week in Liverpool and in 2013 they returned to Liverpool again, but this time together with a 5 piece brass-section called The Abbey’s. Since then they performed on radio broadcastings, festivals and theatre shows in their home country The Netherlands. This year, just a few days before taking off to Liverpool, the band has been invited to play two gigs at the famous Indra club in Hamburg. So it’s going to be a hard days week for the band. One After 909 will be accompanied in Liverpool at some gigs  by The Abbey’s, keyboard player Hiroshi Namura and Barbara Bak (as Cilla Black and Mary Hopkin). This year the band will celebrate their fifth anniversary. A good reason to get back to Liverpool again
