Clark Gilmour is a “fab four” fanatic, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of The Beatles, and a repertoire of over 200 Beatles songs.
Clark’s Cavern set is largely made up of Beatles songs, including songs they wrote and songs they covered, from their early days in The Quarrymen, right through to their solo projects in the 1970s and beyond… playing all the well-known hits but also specialising in rare and obscure tracks from their early days in Hamburg, their Decca audition, BBC sessions, Anthology outtakes, album tracks and B-sides.
As well as The Beatles, expect to hear classic songs from the 50s and 60s with a Cavern connection, from those Rock ‘n’ Roll icons, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Little Richard and Carl Perkins, to sixties groups like The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Searchers etc.
As well as playing solo acoustic gigs, Clark has been portraying John Lennon in many tribute bands since 2009 including Them Beatles (2009 – 2016), Beatlemania and The Magic of The Beatles (2015-2022). He has also been a regular stand-in for The Cavern Club Beatles and continues to play with them when needed.
Clark moved from Glasgow to Liverpool in 2015 and works for The Cavern Club as Artist Liaison. He is also one of the organisers of International Beatleweek festival, booking many of the bands that appear at the event here in Liverpool every August and is an avid supporter of Liverpool Football Club and can often be found singing in The Kop End at Anfield.
In 2024, Clark started a new project; Collaborating with Cavern resident band, Carousel, they have formed Tangled Up In Dylan, a musical celebration of the music of Bob Dylan, another of his musical heroes.
