Millie Courtney, 13 from West Derby, Liverpool, is fast becoming Liverpool’s answer to Taylor Swift, having already topped the charts twice on Radio Nashville. The first, aged 12, with Storybook, a song she wrote in her school library, followed by Feels Like Heaven. No stranger to the Cavern, Millie performed her first-ever live gig there when she was 10, followed by gigs at our weekly songwriters’ night ‘The Monday Club’ in the Cavern Pub. Last year, she was signed by John Ferriter in a joint deal between The Alternative Company and Octagon Management in LA. In June, Millie performed in New York at the UN. Robin De Maggio, grandson of Joe De Maggio, invited Millie to the event. 2015 has been busy for Millie. Appearances on BBCRadio Merseyside, as BBC TV and Granada. She was filmed in the Cavern by Ohio STate University for a documentary looking at the Beatles origins. Millie who is 14 next week, is a huge Beatles fan and delighted to be in this year’s festival. We hope to announce some big news soon! Catch her at Beatleweek.
