BOOTLEG BLONDIE – Remembering Clem Burke
Bootleg Blondie are the world’s No.1 official Debbie Harry and Blondie tribute band, established in 2001. This band are the only tribute to have performed with two original founder members of Blondie, legendary drummer Clem Burke and singer, songwriter bass player and author Gary Valentine. BB had the honour to be thanked on Blondie’s 11th album “Pollinator” and have performed at the infamous CBGB club in New York City, appearing regularly at many top venues and festivals in the UK and Europe. Lead singer Debbie Harris (as seen on BBC1) says her pride and joy is her guitar that she plays during her shows, signed by all the Blondie band members.
To celebrate 40 years since the release of Blondie’s iconic 1978 album ‘Parallel Lines’ Clem joined Bootleg Blondie on drums for not one but two UK tours in 2019 covering nearly 5,000 miles and playing to over 7,000 people!
Clem sadly passed away earlier this year, so for this show we both remember and celebrate this musical legend in the way we know he would have wished us to do so – through his music. Clem played the Cavern many times over the year and was inducted into our Wall of Fame several years ago by Cavern owner and John Lennon’s sister, Julia Baird.
