ORIGINAL 60’s MERSEYBEAT LEGENDS – Live in Liverpool
With members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra
FREE ENTRY WITH GENERAL ADMISSION (£5 on the door)
Before the Covid 19 pandemic, an ambitious project took place which resulted in some of our finest Merseybeat / 60’s music legends re-recording their greatest hits alongside members of the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. This included Mike Pender (The Searchers), Ray Ennis (The Swinging Blue Jeans), Tony Crane & Billy Kinsley (The Merseybeats), Brian Jones (The Undertakers), Dave Berry (The Cruisers), Mike McCartney (The Scaffold), and Gerry Marsden (Gerry and The Pacemakers).
The album was produced by Gary Murphy and engineered by Alan Lewis.
The sessions also resulted in the recording of a brand-new single from Gerry Marsden (“On Merseyside, The Pool of Life”) which sadly has become his final original recording.
The story of the album, recording sessions and live concert will form the backdrop of a new documentary film from LA productions which is due to be released in Spring 2025.
We are honoured to announce that the album launch will take place at a special event at the world-famous Cavern Club in Liverpool on 10th April 2025.
The studio album, alongside a live album (from a performance at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in February 2020 which includes Gerry Marsden’s final public performance) and Gerry Marsden’s EP recording are all due to be released in April 2025 and are now available for pre-order from Last Night from Glasgow’s website:
